Only negative minds can? critisize and compare instead of enjoying such wonderful rendition of Mozarts master piece, we can appreciate this more as there is so much rubbish out there labeled as music and so much is the word "diva" being used for ordinary singers in pop music.

I shudder to think of you-- befouling darling Wolfgang's heavenly music with your foul tongue...hands, whatever. Begone with your crude talk, British buffoon. Besides, those guys above were not saying they? dislike the duet...they have just heard it done better. Renee has been booed off the stage at La Scala, so she isn't always perfect. I like Mirella Freni and Kiri Te Kanawa's harmonies the best in this, except the tempo's a little slower. Perfection is a subjective perception, though.

Morgan Freeman Voice:"I have no idea to this day what them two Italian ladies were singin' about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I? like to think they were singin' about something so beautiful it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared. Higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream"
liimlsan # 1 февраля 2012 в 06:08 0
Janowitz/Mathis is cool, but they're? SINGERS. This is a song. There's an ever-so-slight difference. That one is primarily beautiful dulcet tones, this one is Mozart's song, with the harmonies and spaces between the notes. There's another recording with Lucia Popp that I vastly prefer... not that she's masterclass, but she brings so much indignation to her Mozart and Janacek heroines. She is to indignation (entrapment, kill your boyfriend, how dare you!) what Julie Andrews is to petulance.

How often does the? mezzo- outshine the star soprano? Here is an example. In the end, I find Bartoli a more adept musician. Fleming almost always sounds either passionless, or exaggerated. (I mean, I just don't get Renee– if any one can help me with that, by all means… I have the same misunderstanding of Birgit Nilsson– Help me see [hear] what others can!)

ratracea # 17 апреля 2012 в 17:18 0
@WaheedaRahman: Actually, it's a fair question. Lots of times we just remember some tunes and we would like to identify the song. There are now some software applications available online for this kind of thing. Hum the tune into a mic (as correctly as you can), and the software identifies the song for you (well, maybe not every song; it depends on the database). The "midomi" website (w w w d o t? midomi d o t c o m) worked for me instantly. There are other sites out there too.

What they're singing about actually isn't very pleasant. It's a trick, really. The one writing is? jotting down a letter to other ones' "man" if you will. The husband has been caught cheating, so the letter is to lure the man to the garden where he will meet with one of them (I can't remember). Then the wife will catch him in the act. I only know this because I performed it a few years ago with a mate. The rest of the synopsis, I'm afraid, I do not know. I do agree; it is very beautiful.
stevenel # 8 мая 2012 в 06:12 0
The plot element is that the Count intends to exercise his feudal "right" to the chambermaid Susanna (portrayed by Cecilia Bartoli, on the right) on the night of her wedding to Figaro, the count's valet. The countess (portrayed by Renee Fleming, on the? left) is dictating a fake letter to Susanna which will lure the count to a garden. There the Countess will dress in Susanna's clothes to catch the count's attempted adultery.

Hate to tell you this but Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (Lady Gaga)Actually probably knows more about music than you do. She began the piano at 4 and wrote a ballet ballad at 14. She was involved with theater in highschool and she went to NYU for college. So, she? knows a shit ton about music. She just throws her talent away by trying to be different and producing what the mass bee drone grabs at. She could be doing a lot more with her talent and knowledge but nah. lrn2read

I'm sure she knows? if she was a music student at NYU...I was in a punk band in my teens, everyone loved my voice, so I then decided to sing opera in college. Being an opera singer is like being in a shark tank! Doesn't matter how good you are everyone else thinks they know better. To make $ as an opera singer is almost impossible. To make $ in pop music is easier. So after 15 years of singing opera, I reformed my punk band and still not making money but at least having a great time

Renee Fleming is a strange one, as Diva's go she's one of the oddest. At the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden she's notorious for her refusal to use any toilet except her own personal bedpan. She turns up at rehearsal before anyone else and is the last one to leave... and all the time she shits and pisses into the same porcelaine commode and won't let it be emptied? until after she's left the building. And according to back-stage legend, this is a woman who can really lay a stinky cable!

Fleming and Bartoli....that works in a pinch. Interesting how people can hear something like this out of context (Shawshank Redemption) and absolutely love it, then when asked if they enjoy opera shake their? heads no. Does this blow the "acquired taste" theroy out of the water? Too bad opera suffers from an aura of snobishness. It keeps so many from enjoying it for what it is...the pinnacle of musical art form. Incredible how such a simple song, so little said, still captivate with the same awe and wonder hundreds of years later.Unexplainable what this brings out in people. I'm sure when Mozart wrote this in 1786,? he didn't even? thought about that possibility. Some things can't be explained by pure logic or scientific reasoning behind it. Is there some kind of magic? One of the most momentous experiences in my life was seeing this opera, which is a very long but beautiful work of art. I started listening to much more classical and opera after seeing "A Room with a View" and "Amadeus." You? don't have to see the entire opera to appreciate a beautiful piece of music - just sit back and enjoy, and if you enjoy it enough, you will dig deeper.

I am quite sure that when Shirley Temple grew up she divided into 2 women who were Ms Fleming and Ms Bartoli and when they are upgraded to higher opera singers they become Mr Pavaroti.?

They are writing a letter to the Comte to trick him out to the garden to meet Susanna. The lyrics translated are something like "out in the open air, under the trees and in the bushes, we'll have to write no more, he will understand the rest" I wouldn't say that has much? to do with god :)

This is truly a beautiful piece of music. What I dont understand? though is why it is so short, personally I think most opera is well... crap and just goes on and on till you've either been bored in to a deep state of sleep or well turned it off! If ever should a piece of opera waffle on for over 10minutes a song it should have been sull'aria, truly devine!
rustymun # 11 января 2013 в 20:38 0
Sublime this is indeed. It is also very amusing. Both the ladies wish to? write an "explanatory" letter to the Count but not exactly overburdened with brains or literary genius they can't get past a sentence or two repeating over and over....."the rest he'll understand, the rest he'll understand" So a beautiful tender and loving duet and yet underneath Mozart's tender observations of us fallible humans.Divine!!

Incredible how such a simple song, so little said, still captivate with the same awe and wonder hundreds of years later.Unexplainable what this brings out in tyhe people. I'm sure when Mozart wrote this in 1786, he didn't even thought about that possibility. Some things can't be explained by pure logic or scientific reasoning behind it. Is there some kind of magic? No...? I preffer to say it was pure genius with wonderful simplicity and none of them... could be overachieved. Bravo Mozart!

being from the USA doesn't necessarily have anything with being? able to read the subtitles. I'm from the USA and don't know Italian either. I know enough Latin and Spanish, however, to puzzle my way through what they are singing in this beautiful song. There is no shame in asking for a translation. Very few people speak so many languages that they will never need one.
diggiema # 2 апреля 2013 в 21:43 0
I'm sorry if this comes twice but you're awful. My friend conducted this at the Met and he has to read subtitles often. He isn't American although he lives there? but regardless, he knows more than you'll ever know....and amazingly enough, he's not stupid enough to make a comment like yours.
totalsoc # 3 апреля 2013 в 04:09 0
He's referencing Morgan Freeman's line from Shawshank Redemption during the famous Mozart opera scene. Before you go bashing America, perchaps you should learn more about it's cultural and cinematic history first.? It might make your insults about our "ignorance" a little less embarassing.

That`s the best comment ever written about? this incredibly beautiful duettino. Bartoli`s warm mezzo is the best choice to sing together with the lyric soprano of Renee Fleming. But when they both sing 'Certo, certo il capira'... it`s seraphic.

ahambrah # 14 мая 2013 в 19:51 0
I don't think the world is evil, so there? is the difference...I used to listen to death metal when I was depressed back in adolescence, but since then my musical tastes have changed dramatically. Certainly I don't always listen to classical, but I think that truly great music should speak to the soul and liberate us from ourselves...metal never served that purpose for me, it was always about reinforcing and mirroring my own negative feelings.
