A resident at a Western Sydney aged care home has tested positive to COVID-19 two months after the facility was declared "virus-free".
The resident at Kingswood's Anglicare Newmarch House returned a weak-positive test after exhibiting mild respiratory symptoms.
NSW Health told Sky News the result reflected past infection, claiming it was "not uncommon" for patients who recovered from past infection to have a positive result.
"These patients are not infectious and do not represent a risk to the community," NSW Health said.
Newmarch House was the site of one of the state's deadliest outbreaks with more than 71 infections and 19 deaths.
