Today, in celebration of LATINX/HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH, Ian makes one of his favorite latin dishes, Picadillo! Watch to learn more about Ian’s experiencing growing up in Honduras, how his love of cooking originated from his mom & learn how to make an easy, but delicious traditional meal. 1 Green Pepper diced
1/2 a White Onion (large)
Ground Turkey or Beef or Tofu!
2 Cloves of Garlic (or more if you’re me)
Salt + Pepper
1 Can of Tomato Sauce
1 Can of Black beans (drained)
Packet of Sazon Seasoning but you can use a Seasoning you love.
In a large pan
Sauté the green pepper and onion in some olive oil
Let that cook for a few min (until the onions start to get translucent )
Add ground turkey and mix in.
Cover and let cook for 3 minutes.
Add seasoning mix followed by tomato sauce and let simmer for a few minutes before adding black beans.
Salt n pepper to taste.
Turn heat to med-low and cover and simmer for 10 min.
