I am back after a short break. This is a simple to make amazing breakfast: soft appam and special kadala curry.

for Appam:
3 cup raw rice
wash and soak for 3 hours

1/2 tsp yeast
1 tbsp lukewarm water
grind the rice as 2 batches, with 1/2 cup water each

take aside 1/4 cup batter and to this add cups water

1cup coconut scrapings
1/2 cup cooked rice
salt and water as required

for kadala curry:
black gram
salt, water as required
a pinch of turmeric powder

2 tbsp coconut oil
4 cloves
2 cinnamon stick
3 cardamom
2 onions sliced
a small piece ginger
1 green chilli
1/2 cup coconut scrapings
1 tsp turmeric powder
tsp black pepper powder
tsp garam masala powder
3 tsp coriander powder
2 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
salt as required
1 tomato
1/2 cup water
curry leaves

for tempering:
coconut oil
mustard seeds
dried red chilli
curry leaves
